Marc is a Lawyer and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland. With over 30 years experience in the Construction Industry, Marc has worked both overseas and within Australia.
Marc has extensive experience and understands the needs of the Construction Industry. His real life experiences provide Marc with intimate knowledge of the issues confronting people within the industry.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Marc qualified as an electrician, before moving onto various construction industry roles such contract administration, estimation, contract and project management and construction manager. Marc has worked locally, nationally and in FIFO roles for both client and contractor side roles. His extensive experience ranges from negotiating contracts, through to the administration of construction projects, to disputes, mediation and negotiation.
Marc’s on the tools and in the field experience provides our clients with a significant advantage in saving both time and money. Marc’s truly understands the technical and commercial issues our clients’ face and ensures to provide efficient and honest Legal Advice and representation.
Marc is a Member of the Queensland Law Society, and The Society of Construction Law (Australia). Marc also remains a QLD Registered Electrical Contractor and holds a current electrical trade licence.
Principal Chris Lenz BSc Eng LLB (Hons) MBA LLM
Chris is the Principal of Lenz Moreton and has over 30 years experience as a Lawyer and is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia. He also practiced as a Chartered Professional Engineer overseas and within Australia, from 1976 to 1990. In this capacity, he worked as a Design and Consulting Engineer and Construction Contractor. He maintains his professional engineering status with continuous professional development.
Chris has extensive experience and understands the needs of the Engineering and Construction Industry. He has an intimate knowledge of the issues confronting people within the industry. As a small businessman he understands the pressures of running business.
Chris’ experience in the field provides a significant advantage for Clients in the industry because they are able to easily communicate with him as he knows and clearly understands their technical and commercial issues. Consequently, Legal Advice and representation is effective in dealing with all complex Construction matters.
His extensive Legal experience ranges from drafting and negotiating contracts, through the administration of construction projects with claims and defending claims, to dealing with disputes through the Courts, arbitration, mediation or negotiation.
He speaks German and successfully resolved a commercial contractual dispute with a German company. He has appeared as an advocate in all Court jurisdictions in Queensland including the Federal Courts and the Commercial and Consumer Tribunal.
Chris has mediated well over 100 disputes, since 1990, and has adjudicated over 50 disputes under the the old BCIPA and the new BIF Queensland rapid payment legislation, and as an adjudicator in the Northern Territory He is on the Queensland Land Court Panel of ADR Practitioners.
He is actively interested in Digital Engineering aka Building Information Modelling (BIM) having a BIM Management Certificate from Redstack and is a panel member for the very successful BRISBIM which holds popular meetings throughout the year.
He is a Member of the Queensland Law Society, and holds a practicing certificate to practice in his own right as a solicitor. He is a Registered Senior Adjudicator, Grade 3 Arbitrator and a Nationally Accredited Mediator with the Queensland Law Society. Chris is also a member of Engineers Australia, is registered on the National Professional Engineers Register (NPER), and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).He has had four papers published in peer reviewed journals, which are in the “Publications” page of the website.
